The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is the largest of the many reflecting pools in Washington, D.C. Dedicated in 1922, it is a 2,030-by-167-foot concrete-bottomed rectangular pool which originally held 6.75 million U.S. gallons of water. According to former U.S. secretary of the interior Ken Salazar, as of 2012 it holds about 4 million U.S. gallons of water. The pool is located on the National Mall, in between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument.
