US states, consumer watchdog file lawsuit against Amazon for manipulating advertising prices

The Federal Trade Commission, along with twenty-two states, has initiated legal action against Amazon, alleging that the retail giant manipulated online auctions and charged excessive fees to advertisers.

It's claimed that Amazon profited significantly by altering auction outcomes to favor higher bids.

Amazon has refuted these claims, labeling the lawsuit as a misguided and misinterpreted move, following a recent FTC settlement concerning Prime subscriptions.
