Super Typhoon Sinlaku Hits Pacific

Super Typhoon Sinlaku Hits Pacific

The inner eyewall of Super Typhoon Sinlaku made landfall on Tuesday, bringing ferocious winds and heavy rains to a chain of islands home to roughly 50,000 people.

Officials in Saipan have reported objects flying 'left and right' and warned of prolonged power outages as the storm intensifies.

The National Weather Service described the typhoon as the most dangerous to hit the region in eight years, prompting residents to seek shelter in reinforced structures.

Military installations in the area are also on high alert as the storm's slow movement threatens to inflict catastrophic damage over an extended period.
