Israel Crosses Litani River

Israel Crosses Litani River

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has confirmed that Israeli ground forces have crossed north of the Litani River in southern Lebanon for the first time in 20 years.

Netanyahu described the move as a 'tactical victory' aimed at neutralizing Hezbollah positions, despite ongoing military talks in Washington.

The Litani River serves as the northern limit of a UN-monitored security zone, and the crossing marks a significant escalation in the regional conflict.

In response, Hezbollah launched rocket barrages into northern Israel, while the Lebanese army reported casualties from targeted Israeli strikes.
