Starmer warns of economic damage

Sir Keir Starmer told MPs that the fallout from the Middle East crisis will knock hundreds of pounds off household incomes by the end of the year.

He announced a joint summit with France aimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which he described as 'deeply damaging' to global trade.

The Prime Minister also faced criticism for failing to introduce new cost-of-living support measures as fuel prices continue to rise.

Despite the pressure, Starmer maintained that involving the UK in the military campaign is not in the national interest.
